The Israeli government is now considering the possibility of filing a claim to Argentina due to the incidents occurred Sunday during a tribute to the 61st anniversary of Israel’s independence.

Talking to the Jewish News Agency, (Agencia Judía de Noticias, AJN), Alex Ben Zvi, Director of the Israel Foreign Ministry’s Latin America Division, confirmed that Israel is analyzing the possibility of filing a claim before the Argentine government due to the incidents that took place on Sunday during an event which marked the 61st anniversary of Israel’s creation.

“The aggressors were the same ones who attacked the Argentinean Jewish businessman Eduardo Elsztain a few months ago. They qualified him as a ‘rat’,” asserted Ben Zvi.

The official dismissed that fact that these events would interfere with the next event on June 18th, in which the 15th anniversary against AMIA will be commemorated.

Ben Zvi also dismissed that the attack could be related to the presence of the Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and his close relation with Iran, a country that demands the elimination of the State of Israel.
