Israel´s ambassador responded harshly to statements of his Syrian counterpart

Israel´s ambassador in Argentina, Daniel Gazit, responded harshly to recent statements by his Syrian counterpart, Riad Al Sineh, and accused the state of being an ally of the terrorist organizations Hezbollah and Hamas.

The controversy started after the Syrian diplomatic described that kind of groups as “resistance movements”.

Through a column sent to the Jewish News Agency, Gazit considered that, according to the logic of the Syrian ambassador “the attacks on the AMIA and Israel Embassy, would be acts of resistance, considering the proven involvement of the terrorist organization Hezbollah during that events”.

Thus, the Israel diplomat responded to a column published by his Syrian counterpart in the newspaper Clarín, in which he stressed that “resistance is not terrorism, and resistance is the right of all people, that has been legitimized by the ONU and endorsed by all the members states”.
