Itongadol.- The Magen David Adom (MDA-Red Star of David) emergency service and the Israel Defense Forces are opening a 10-month course to train paramedics from among the students of the Meir Harel hesder yeshiva program in Modi\’in, about halfway between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. The yeshiva was chosen because its location in the center of the country and because of its unique six-year combination of advanced Judaic studies with military service.

The course will commence with those who are inducted in a month. Those chosen for the course must commit to two years of volunteer service with MDA. One of the purposes of the course is to respond to a critical shortage of paramedics in civilian and military circles.
