Itongadol.- Nefesh B’Nefesh conducted a week of Aliyah Mega Events and fairs in six major cities across North America last week together with the Jewish Agency for Israel, the Jewish National Fund (JNF), JNF-USA and Israel’s Ministry of Immigrant Absorption. The Aliyah Events, which took place in Toronto, Montreal, Florida, Baltimore, Washington and New York between March 3rd and 10th, incorporated Aliyah-related seminars and workshops, as well as personal consultations with staff from all of the organizers. Representatives from various Israeli ministries, health funds, shippers, The Jewish Agency for Israel and Nefesh B’Nefesh’s ‘Go North’ and ‘Go South’ programs were present.
Israeli Communications Minister Moshe Kahlon, Israeli Consul General in NY Ido Aharoni, Mayor of Hadera Chaim Abitan, CEO of the JNF Russell Robinson, Deputy Chairmen of the JNF Gael Grunwald and Menachem Leibovic, and additional senior JNF board members were amongst the guests of honor at the NYC event.
Participants benefited from workshops and seminars on various topics such as: Careers in Israel, Financial Planning, Taxes & Budgeting, The Israeli HealthcareSystem, Navigating Israel’s Education System, Introduction to the Aliyah Process, Aliyah Rights and Benefits and the ‘Go North’ and ‘Go South’ Programs. In addition, representatives of The Jewish Agency for Israel spoke about the process for verifying Aliyah eligibility and the various programs the Agency offers to assist immigrants in their transition to Israeli life.
To date, Nefesh B’Nefesh has assisted over 33,000 Olim and more than 50,000 North American and British Jews have attended Nefesh B\’Nefesh pre-Aliyah informational seminars throughout the US, Canada and UK, including specially tailored programs, events and individual counseling sessions.
