IDF soldier injured in Palestinian refugee camp clashes

Itongadol.- An IDF soldier was lightly injured by stones thrown at him by Palestinians rioting in the Al Aroub refugee camp in the Gush Etzion region of the West Bank, Army radio reported on Thursday evening. The soldier was evacuated to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem for treatment.

The clashes began in the aftermath of an attempted attack on an IDF soldier earlier on Thursday afternoon in the vicinity of the camp. Dozens of Palestinians threw stones and Molotov cocktails at IDF soldiers.

Israeli security forces thwarted an attempted terrorist attack near the Al-Aroub refugee camp in the southern West Bank, the IDF reported Thursday afternoon.

According to initial reports, the suspect was shot by IDF forces after he ran toward Israeli troops with an ax in his hand.

There were no injuries to Israeli forces in the attempted stabbing.
