Itongadol.- An IDF soldier was lightly wounded in a suspected vehicular ramming attack Thursday between the Palestinian town of Huwara and the Israeli settlement of Tapuah, near Nablus in the West Bank.
The attacker was reportedly shot and killed at the scene at Habitot Junction.
IDF medics evacuated the approximately 20-year-old victim to the Rabin Medical Center-Beilinson Campus in Petah Tikva.
Security forces cordoned off traffic between Tapuah Junction and Yitzhar Junction in light of the incident.
The Huwara checkpoint has been a flashpoint site for attacks in recent months.
Most recently, on Saturday a Palestinian terrorist carried out a car-ramming attack on IDF troops manning a checkpoint near Hawara. The attacker was shot dead by soldiers. One soldier was lightly wounded in the leg in the attack.
