Itongadol.- Israeli soldiers reportedly arrested a Palestinian woman after she was frisked at an IDF post near Hebron and a knife was found in her possession.
The woman tried escaping the scene but was caught by the soldiers, according to reports in Hebrew-language media.
There was no immediate confirmation from Israeli authorities.
On Sunday, a Palestinian woman attempted to stab a policeman in Hebron before security forces shot her. According to Israel Radio, the attacker was hit with a rubber bullet and hospitalized in Jerusalem in serious condition. There were no Israeli casualties reported in the incident.
Hebron has been a hotbed for Palestinian attackers over the past three months, according to figures released by the Israeli defense establishment last week.
Of 130 Palestinians who carried out attacks against security personnel and civilians, 28 came from Hebron and 19 from the villages around the city, which lies 30 kilometers (19 miles) south of Jerusalem. Thirty hailed from East Jerusalem, and the rest from other areas in the West Bank.
The incident was the latest in a string of what Israeli officials say are near-daily stabbings and attack attempts over the last two months.
On Saturday afternoon, a Palestinian man stabbed three people in the central Israeli city of Ra’anana before being apprehended by police. One man was seriously injured and two women were lightly hurt in the attack.
