Israel`s Deputy Foreign Minister, Danny Ayalon, said that Israel doesn’t need to ask United States authorization if the Hebrew government decides to take a military action against Iran to stop its controversial nuclear program.
However, Ayalon added that “Israel is a great ally of the United States and of course it is consulting” with Washington about the measures that must be taken in face of the Iranian threat.
In an exclusive interview with the Jewish News Agency because of the 20º anniversary of the Israel´s Embassy attack in Buenos Aires, that will be published today, Ayalon assured that Israel doesn’t have to consult the United States about a possible attack to the Islamic Republic.
“The relationship between both countries (Israel and the US) is of mutual respect, friendship and alliance, it is natural. It is based on a common history of shared values, and on a great cooperation in many fields”, he said.
Besides, Ayalon said that Israel and the US “share the aim that Iran doesn’t turn nuclear”. However he estimated that Iran will achieve its goal.
While Barack Obama`s office is still counting on the international sanctions and the diplomacy to end with Iran´s controversy, Jerusalem says that all the options are on the table and doesn’t rule out a possible military action against Tehran.
“I am not with a timer in mi hand. It´s not about a few days or weeks, but neither about years”, Israel´s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, said recently to the press.
International analysts think that the Israeli government is “skeptical” about the real ability of the sanctions and the diplomacy to control Iran´s nuclear activity.
In the meantime, the Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, continues with his message of destruction of Israel´s State.
