Itongadol/AJN .- This was stated by the president of the AMIA, Tomás Saieg, in dialogue with AJN, referring to the bomb threat that the building of the 650 Uriburu Street, where the Integral Center for Older Adults, the central office of the Employment Service and a lot of social programs of the entity work, had to be evacuated by a false bomb threat. "The big problem we had is that the grandparents, very old people, have lived very unpleasant moments during those two hours", he said.

"When the building was evacuated, it was necessary to remove them with enormous difficulty, along with the AMIA staff and their families, who came to see what was happening with their grandparents", he explained and added that "they did not understand what was happening in a moment of so much confusion".

Preventively, the police ordered the cut of the Uriburu St. between Viamonte and Tucumán, and the Explosives Brigade made the corresponding revision with negative result. "It was two hours of a lot of stress for all of us and especially for old people", Saieg concluded. While the recognition was being carried out, solidarity programs were interrupted, and staff and participants were evacuated.

In a statement, AMIA urged the authorities to take all necessary steps to investigate the origin and nature of the threat received.
