Itongadol.- A 27-year-old man was stabbed in the shoulder Monday in the central coastal Israeli city of Herzliya, in what appeared to be a nationalistically motivated attack.
The victim of the assault, an Arab Israeli from the country’s north, suffered light injuries and was rushed by a medical team to the Meir Hospital in Kfar Saba for further treatment.
According to the victim, the attacker yelled “Death to Arabs” and other racial epithets during the stabbing.
Police apprehended the assailant several hours after the attack, and was questioning him.
“We will not tolerate acts of violence against any human being,” Herzliya Mayor Moshe Fadlon said following the stabbing. Fadlon further vowed to increase the police presence throughout the city.
