The IDF said on Tuesday searches would resume for missing soldier Guy Hever.
The head of the army\’s Human Resources Branch, Maj.-Gen. Orna Barbibay, has decided to renew investigations in the area where Hever went missing on August 17, 1997, the IDF Spokesman\’s Unit said.
Hever was last seen at his base on the Golan Heights near the border with Syria.
"The IDF will continue to do all it can to resolve the case of the soldier\’s disappearance and discover what happened," said a statement from the army.
"The IDF has an ethical and moral duty to return all missing soldiers to their families," the statement added.
Hever\’s mother, Rina, has stated that she believes her son was being held in Syria.
