This year saw 370 teachers from 53 countries attend the seminar.

The members of the Turkish mission met with Yad Vashem director Avner Shalev and discussed how they could improve education about the Holocaust in Turkey.

"We see a great importance in the participation of the Turkish mission in the seminar. We\’re sure it will yield future collaborations."

Ankara\’s mission was led by Ibrahim Bukel, director of textbook editing in Turkey\’s Ministry of Education.

"We are grateful to Yad Vashem for their invitation. After acquiring this important information we will share it with the Turkish authorities," he said.

"We believe that teaching about the Holocaust will assist in raising awareness to it in Turkey."
