Itongadol.- The activities, geared toward the entire population – secular, religious and ultra-Orthodox Jews, as well as Arabs – will include sport programs, theater, music, dance, film, carnivals and more, and each day will end with a performance by artists such as Berry Shakharof, Shalom Hanoch, Ethnix, Shuli Rand, and others.
“The goal of the project is to facilitate families that have to invest heavily in order to find things with which to occupy their children during the summer months, and to allow them to experience different activities in the fields of culture and sport close their homes,” said Culture and Sport Minister Miri Regev.
“As a mother of children, I know the period at the end of the summer when camps have ended, the children are bored, and expenses grow. Therefore, we at the Culture and Sport Ministry decided to launch the ‘No-Worries August’ project so parents can finish the vacation with free fun activities for the whole family. I invite the general public to participate.”
The towns that will benefit from the project are: Ofakim, Elad, Be’er Tuviya, Gilboa region, Dimona, Daliat al-Carmel, Lod, Binyamin Regional Council, Nahariya, Nazareth, Netivot, Acre, Afula, Arad, Safed, Kiryat Ata, Kiryat Shmona, Rahat and Sderot.
