An antisemitic, wicked, Holocaust denying, and tendentious article, whose purpose is to compare Israel with the Nazis, was published in the "Morning Talk" ("Πρωϊνός Λόγος") newspaper in the city of Ioannina, on August 4th, 2016. The article, titled "Why the Jews insist that we should…. always respect them?“ was written by journalist K. Kalcis.
The president of the Jewish Community of Ioannina, Prof. Moshe Eliasaf, who also serves as the substitute general secretary at the Central Committee of the Jewish Communities of Greece [KISE], and the Central Committee of the Jewish Communities of Greece [KISE]. Mr. Eliasaf\’s letter was published on the first page of the "Proinos Logos" newspaper on August 9th, 2016, and on the newspaper\’s website as well. The letter of the Central Committee of the Jewish Communities of Greece was published on the newspaper issue of August 11th, 2016.
Additional letters were sent by the journalist and historian of Ioannina, Alkus Reptis (published on 10.08.16), and Mr. Victor Eliezer, journalist and reporter of Israeli newspaper "Yediot Aharonot" in Greece (published on the August 11th, 2016 of the "Proinos Logos" newspaper, along with KISE\’s letter, and published below). The letters refute the abusive references of the article by well-founded arguments, which refer to historical events and the meaning of the lessons of the Holocaust for the future generations to come.
On the other hand, journalist K. Kalcis reiterated the antisemitic comments on his website as well (9.8.16, stotapsi.gr) and also in his letter published in the "Proinos Logos" newspaper on August 12th, 2016.
