Itongadol.- An Arab terrorist opened fire on a car in the Binyamin region of Samaria just north of Jerusalem on Thursday night, causing no wounds but inflicting damage on the vehicle according to the driver.
The incident took place between Kokhav Ya\’akov and Psagot, and in it the windshield of the car was shattered by the gunfire.
Large IDF and police forces were deployed to track down the attacker, and sections of the road were closed to traffic.
"The town of Psagot counts an additional miracle tonight," read a statement released by the community, in reference to the coming Hanukkah holiday that celebrates the miraculous defeat of the Greek occupation over 2,000 years ago.
"Ten bullets hit a car that left the town. The shooting attack was very close to tragic results. The town strengthens the hands of the IDF and calls to defeat the terror in the region."
The attack comes shortly after a stabbing at the Damascus Gate of Jerusalem\’s Old City, in which an officer around 35-years-old was moderately wounded.
The terrorist was shot dead at the scene, and the victim was evacuated to Shaare Tzedek Hospital in the capital to receive treatment.
Earlier on Thursday a Palestinian Authority (PA) intelligence officer shot two Israelis, leaving one seriously wounded and the other lightly wounded, before being shot dead by IDF soldiers.
The attack took place at Hizme checkpoint just north of Jerusalem, which is the major artery into Jerusalem from Samaria.
