Tradition and technology meet in a new video depicting robots, developed at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, preparing for the upcoming Jewish New Year.
In the short clip, a crane-clawed robot is seen picking customary Rosh Hashana pomegranates from a tree in the Haifa-based university’s Seven Spice Garden outside the Civil, Environmental, and Agricultural Robotics (CEAR) Lab where the machinery was made.
Afterward, two small four-wheeled robots travel throughout the campus with baskets-full of the symbolic red fruit and honey to present the festive tidings to the institution’s president, who then delivers a holiday greeting.
