Itongadol.- The Iron Dome missile defense system intercepted two missiles over central Israel a little before noon on Monday,  as sirens sounded in Tel Aviv, Rishon Letzion, Beit Shemesh and elsewhere in the region. A third fell in an open area.

Hamas claimed responsibility for the attacks a short time later, saying it had fired M-75 missiles at Tel Aviv.

Iron Dome also intercepted two rockets fired at Ashdod at around noon on Monday, after sirens sounded in the city, as well as in Kiryat Malachi and Hevel Yavne Regional Council.

The strikes came after a morning of heavy fire on the south of Israel, with sirens regularly wailing in various communities in the region.

Hardest hit in  the south was Sderot, which was targeted every few minutes. The yard of a home was hit in the town, causing a fire to break out. No one was injured.

Sha\’ar HaNegev Regional Council also came under massive barrages Monday morning. A rocket also hit a home in Sha\’ar HeNegev, but no injuries were reported. Three rockets also exploded in open areas near the town.

The rocket barrages come shortly after two terrorist cells emerged from the same tunnel dug from Gaza into Israeli territory. IDF troops killed 10 terrorists in the incident.
