Itongadol.- The Israel Defense Forces struck six targets overnight Saturday in the Gaza Strip, the second attack on the coastal territory in a 24-hour period.
Israel Air Force crafts bombed four terrorist headquarters, three in the southern Strip and one in the center, as well as two weapons storehouses in the south. The IDF Spokesperson\’s office said a direct hit was identified.
The strikes come in response to two rockets fired earlier in the evening at Israel, which landed in the Hof Ashkelon Regional Council. No injuries or damages were reported in either strike.
Earlier Saturday, the IDF struck a weapons storehouse and other targets in the southern Strip, in response to another rocket fired in the morning. The IDF identified a direct hit in that attack as well.
Gaza authorities reported Saturday that a seven-year-old Palestinian boy, Ali Abed al-Latif Alawar, succumbed to wounds incurred during an IDF targeted assassination on his terrorist Mohammed Awar last week. The Shin Bet security service said that Awar, 33, was responsible for rocket attacks against Israel over the last few years and in the last month in particular.
Security forces said that it had targeted Awar, an officer in the Hamas police, for his role in a number of recent attacks. His cell, apparently Salafist, was said to behind April 21 rocket strikes on Sderot and other communities in the Gaza envelope.
He was hit while riding a motorcycle in the northern strip and died soon after. In addition to the boy, another Gaza resident – Hamda Nasser, in his 20s – was also injured.
