Ma’ariv contends that "Israel is no longer an independent sovereign state.  Whoever is looking for proof to that extent, it is enough to discernthe Governments’ attempt to conceal the State Comptroller’s grave reportconcerning the destruction of antiquities and the helplessness of the authorities on the Temple Mount."  The author charges that "Under the protection of the Government of Israel, the Police, the Antiquities Authority and the Attorney General, radical Palestinian Islam is methodically working to wipe out history."

Yisrael Hayom discusses the authorities’ demolition of the Bedouin settlement of al-Arakib and asks "Why support lawbreakers?  There are those who speak of generations of Bedouin settlement in al-Arakib, but until twelve years ago there was nothing there, no shanties and no tents."

The Jerusalem Post discusses the provocative Lebanese army sniper fire that killed one IDF officer and seriously wounded another two days ago, and notes that while "not a shred of doubt exists about the aggressor’s identity . . .  the reaction of the UN, US, EU and Russia has been implausibly ‘evenhanded.’” The editor notes that "Were there even a fraction of a pretext to lay blame on Israel, we can be sure that this would have been done with extraordinary vehemence," and adds that the international reaction, combined with the impotence demonstrated by the UNIFIL force to prevent the clash, only "underscores Israeli apprehensions regarding international guarantees and international peacekeeping."

Haaretz informs the government that "Restraint is not weakness," and calls on the government and IDF to understand that "not every time is right for demonstrating Israeli sovereignty right up to the last millimeter, certainly not when tension is rising on both sides of the northern border." The editor adds: "Employing restraint and waiting at such a time are not an expression of weakness, but of wisdom and political sensitivity."
