In public square, life-size Tetris game invites passersby to play

Itongadol.-Forget the small screen. In this Mediterranean city, fans of the video game can play on the side of a building.

Last night in Tel Aviv, Israel, the coastal Mediterranean city launched a massive version of Tetris on the City Hall building – yes, ON the building.

The 10,000-square-foot facade of City Hall was lit with 480 Tetris cells, controlled by two giant joysticks set up in the public square outside.

The tile-matching puzzle video game was released in the 1980s and has remained popular ever since, but is most often played on game consoles or TV screens rather than city halls.

Fortunately for residents and visitors to Tel Aviv the game is available for free to the public, as are the games Pong and Snake.
