Itongadol.- Argentinean Rabbi Abraham Skorka and Pope Francis\’ friend expressed his opinion after the deathly attacks in Paris, France, and said, to the Jewish News Agency: “The Pontiff needs more partners in the Catholic Church, the Judaism and the Islam to hold one another and form a wall against all of those who choose death over life”.
“When there are actions against the human in the name of God, this has nothing to do with the faith in Israel´s, Abraham´s or Yakov´s God, it has to do with human drives, the destruction of life”, he added.
His comments were made days after the commemoration of the Nostra Aetate 50º anniversary, in which the Vatican imposed a change in the Church relationship with other faiths, especially the Judaism. “Even though there have been many efforts after the Holocaust so that this kind of thing never happens again, the hate continues. I have listened to many statements but there haven´t been committed actions that lead to a real peace”.
The coordinated attacks in Paris killed 137 people on November 13th.
