Itongadol.- A suspected terrorist attempted to stab a soldier near the Jewish neighborhood in Hebron on Monday, the IDF stated.
The assailant was shot and subdued by security forces. His condition was not immediately clear.
No Israelis were wounded in the attack.
The Hebron area has been the repeated scene of stabbing attacks against security forces and Israeli citizens in recent days.
Earlier on Monday, a Palestinian stabbed a 19-year old IDF soldier in the neck near the Beit Einun junction by the West Bank settlement of Kiryat Arba in the Hebron area.
The young man was seriously injured in the upper part of his body. Magen David Adom evacuated him to the Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.
Security forces shot and killed the terrorist.
On Sunday, a terrorist tried to stab Border Police officers at the entrance to the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron after she aroused the suspicion of officers.
The woman was waiting to enter the holy site, but was acting suspiciously. She was asked for identification but suddenly took out a knife and started walking toward the police, while screaming at them.
The officers fired at her and she was killed. She did not manage to injure anyone at the scene.
