Itongadol.- Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein turned to the President and CEO of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg on Wednesday, demanding to immediately remove Facebook pages that incite against Jews and Arabs.

Edelstein turned to Zuckerberg and Richard Allan, director of policy of Facebook in Europe and the Middle East, over the issue.

"Recently I have been exposed to the unfortunate and uglyphenomenon of Israeli Facebook pages whose owners, probably mostly teenagers, have added the nickname \’Death to the Arabs\’ to their names," he said. "In addition there is a trend to add \’Death to Jews\’ to one\’s name."

"I am appalled and condemn the phenomenon to all here, and I have nodoubt that we are talking about incitement for its own sake," he continued. "The Jewish and
Arab public in Israel often has fierce debates, but even as we reinforce our positions [on these issues, it] must be done substantively and with human dignity."

The Knesset speaker asked the leaders of the social network to act without delay using the tools at their disposal to immediately stop the activities of these pages\’ owners.
