Sirens sound in Ashdod as rockets fired into Israel

 One rocket exploded near Gan Yavne, just north of Ashdod.

Air raid sirens went off in Ashdod and Lakhish on Tuesday night. The sounds of distant blasts could be heard in the Shfela region.

One rocket exploded near Gan Yavne, just north of Ashdod, according to an IDF spokeswoman.

An IDF source said that the exact number of rockets fired in total remains unclear at this stage. There were no injuries in the attack, though the army said it was too soon to know whether or not there was damage.
