Bennett reprimands EU ambassadors on Israel policy, recording reveals
Bennett was a guest at the ambassadors\’ meeting, at which 26 of the 28 EU envoys to Israel were present.
He accused the EU of immorality in its policy toward Israel, suggesting that Europe was attempting to use its economic power over the Jewish state to force Jerusalem into making decisions that would be detrimental to the state\’s security.
"To single out Israel, to twist our arms economically in the hopes that we\’ll commit suicide because financially we\’ll get hit if we don\’t, it\’s immoral from my perspective," Bennett is heard saying in the recording.
Bennett said that rather than attack Israel, the EU should understand that Israel was the "big dam in this big river of terror."
He called on the ambassadors to help Israel fulfill its role as the last line against terror, rather than attack the state for its settlement policies.
