Two Israeli journalists attacked by Palestinian mob near Ramallah

Itongadol.- Two Israeli journalists were attacked during a riot in Beitunia near Ramallah on Friday afternoon and suffered light injuries, according to the IDF Spokesperson\’s Office.

The two journalists were beaten by masked men and suffered bruising before being evacuated from the area by Palestinian Authority security forces, and transferred to the custody of the IDF Civil Administration.

One of the journalists was Walla Arab affairs analyst Avi Issacharoff, who tweeted this following the incident: Was attacked and beaten by Palestinian mob. Near Ramallah. Just because I\’m an Israeli journalist.

Issacharoff tweeted before the attack that there were around 100 protesters in the area and that tear gas was being used by security forces as a crowd dispersal method.
The second victim was a Walla photographer, whose name has not yet been made public.

The Palestinian Journalists\’ Association condemned the attack on the two Israelis.

Following the attack, West Bank security coordinator Yoav Mordechai told head of Palestinian general intelligence Majid Faraj that the incident was further proof of the importance of coordination between the two sides, Israel Radio reported.
