Itongadol/AJN.- A commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards stated that Hezbollah’s new missiles are more accurate and can hit any target in Israel. The remarks come in the background of a report last week, according to which Hezbollah succeeded to smuggle advanced anti-ship cruise missiles from military bases within Syria into Lebanese territory
In the background of reports last week, according to which Hezbollah succeeded to smuggle into Lebanon new long-range missiles, a commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards stated yesterday that Hezbollah has dramatically improved her missile capabilities.
According to the Air Force Commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, Hezbollah now has the ability to hit any target in Israel. In an interview conducted with the Iranian Fars News Agency, the Iranian General warned that in the event of a future conflict with Hezbollah, “Israel will witness the new power of Hezbollah.”
Hajizadeh added that senior level Hezbollah leader Hassan Al Laqis, who was assassinated in Beirut last month, played a major role in improving the missile capabilities of the Shiite terrorist organization. He stated that Hezbollah’s new missiles have high precision capabilities.
Last week, the American Wall Street Journal newspaper reported that Hezbollah succeeded to smuggle long-range rockets from Syria to Lebanon. A US official estimated that 12 anti-ship cruise missiles manufactured in Russia were smuggled into Lebanon in order to prevent air attacks by Israel.
However, the official stated that Hezbollah is still missing pieces in order to operate the anti-ship cruise missiles. According to the report, Hezbollah also obtained long-range Scud D missiles that are able to reach deep into Israel, as well as Scud C missiles, Fajr missiles, and aircraft equipment. These missiles are the type that can reach Israel’s gas rafts and damage Israeli naval ships. Therefore, they are missiles that Israel cannot permit to threaten her.
