Celebrating the Seminario\’s 50th anniversary

 Itongadol/AJN.- The Seminario Rabínico Latinoamericano was founded in 1962 by Rabbi Marshall T. Meyer z”l and a group of community leaders. It is one of the most important institutions of Higher Jewish Education in Latin America, the only one of its kind in the whole continent and one out of the four that trains rabbis and spiritual leaders in the Conservative movement worldwide.

Currently the Seminario is celebrating its 50th anniversary. The celebration began in the month of November of the year 2012 with a moving and overflowing dinner event, hosting 300 people from nine different countries.
On October 7th, 2013, a Gala Event took place at the Colon Theater that set the tone for an even more promising future in the next 50 years. The Gala opened with Argentina’s and Israel’s National Anthems, sung by Chazanim and Cantorial students, and was followed by the participation of the renowned Israeli artists Shlomo Mintz and Itamar Golan. More than 2500 people and representatives of more than 100 institutions enjoyed the memorable evening at the most prominent Opera House in the region.
