Ma’ariv claims that "Many Arab intellectuals have expressed sincere hopes for the success of the talks between Israel and the Palestinians," and adds that "It is clear to all that a rupture in the negotiations will lead to despair that is liable to drag the region into conflict, which none of the moderate Arab countries want."  The author asserts that "The idea to include, in the framework of a solution, all countries of the region is a necessary condition for the success of the negotiations," and believes that a peace agreement with Syria "would rescue it from the embrace of Iran and Hezbollah and perhaps even bring a little quiet to Iraq."

Yisrael Hayom avers that "The current leaderships are unable to reach a comprehensive agreement that would put an end to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.  The peoples of the Middle East understand that the best possibility is an interim agreement similar to that outlined by George W. Bush.  However, it is more likely that the good intentions will collide with various interests and deteriorate into a blame game in which each side looks for a formula to accuse its rival.  Rather disappointing, but that is what there is."

The Jerusalem Post criticizes the Ben Gurion Airport workers’ strike yesterday, which caused the airport to close for several hours, and declares that "Through their irresponsible behavior on Monday, union leaders have shown they cannot be trusted." The editor calls on the government to impose a no-strike rule on the airport, which would allow the government to fire aviation workers who abuse the right to strike, and adds that "Israel’s only international airport must not be allowed to become a bargaining chip in the hands of a few Histadrut functionaries."

Haaretz calls for a probe into FM Avigdor Lieberman’s ties with Austrian billionaire Martin Schlaff, and states that "The Lieberman file is on Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein’s desk with the police recommendation to indict the foreign minister. The attorney general must decide quickly to end this intolerable situation in which an unresolved cloud of suspicion hovers over a leading politician."
