4-year-old boy lightly hurt in West Bank rock attack

The army said the incident took place at an intersection near the West Bank city of Bethlehem, south of Jerusalem.
 

The boy, who was struck in the head by shards of glass from the shattered window of the car he was in, was taken to a clinic in the nearby settlement of Efrat, Israel Radio reported.
 

The military said IDF troops are combing the area for suspects behind the attack.
 

In a separate incident, two Palestinians with knives were detained by the army near the West Bank settlement of Adam, north of Jerusalem.
 

The attack came during a period of tensions between Israelis and Palestinians and a wave of unrest in the West Bank and in East Jerusalem.
 

On December 12, seven people, including a family of five with young children, were lightly wounded in the West Bank when a Palestinian man hurled acid into their car, before being shot and seriously wounded. The attack occurred near a checkpoint between the Gush Etzion settlement of Beitar Illit, where the family was from, and the Palestinian village of Husan, southwest of Jerusalem.
 

Car terrorist attacks by Palestinians have killed five people in recent months. Last month two Palestinian terrorists entered a Jerusalem synagogue and attacked worshipers there with knives and a gun, leaving four worshipers and a policeman dead.
