Itongadol.- MDA stations in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Haifa and at Tel Hashomer, are open from 10 a.m. through 8 p.m. on Thursday and between 8 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. on Friday.

Due to a “serious shortage” of blood following the High Holidays, Magen David Adom has called on the public to donate a precious pint during through Friday. As a result of the shortfall, MDA said, there is liable to be a significant reduction in ongoing procedures in hospitals and postponement of elective operations.

The types of blood that are especially needed are Type O and Rh-blood of all types, but all are welcome. Every donor automatically receives blood insurance for himself and first-degree relatives for a year.

MDA stations in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and Haifa, as well as MDA’s blood services center at Tel Hashomer, are open from 10 a.m. through 8 p.m. on Thursday and between 8 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. on Friday. Details of blood donation at other stations and in public areas are available on the first-aid, ambulance and blood-collection organization’s website at www.mdais.org/dam.

People who want to donate blood as a group of 20 individuals or more can call (03) 530-0402 to have an MDA medic come to them.
