The military wing of Hamas, Izz-adin al-Qassam, on Thursday released a preview of a feature-length film to be broadcast on Hamas televisionThursday night, which will portray, both in actual footage and dramaticrecreation, the kidnapping of IDF soldier over five years ago. According to Hamas, the film will reveal new information about the kidnapping, and disclose exactly how the terror group was able to capture Shalit.
The film is being released to “celebrate” the release of over 1,000 terrorists by Israel in exchange for Shalit one year ago. According to Taher al-Nunu, a spokesman for Gaza\’s Hamas government, "the Shalit deal was one of the biggest achievements of the Palestinian resistance. It proves (capturing soldiers) is the best way to have prisoners released and put pressure on the Zionist occupation."
According to al-Nunu, Hamas was “too easy” on Israel in negotiations for the release of Shalit. He said that Hamas would certainy kidnap more Israeli soldiers, and that this time, the price for their release would be much higher; Hamas would demand that Israel release all the terrorists it had refused to free in the Shalit deal, including, for example, Ahmad Sa\’adat, responsible for the murder of former Tourism Minister Rachamim Ze\’evi.
Earlier, the PA\’s Minister of Prisoners, Issa Karaka. 18 terrorists who were released from Israeli prisons in the Shalit deal on condition that they remain in Gaza will be going back to their homes in Palestinian Authority-controlled areas of Judea and Samaria. They will be traveling to their former homes in the coming weeks as part of the “celebration” of the Muslim Id al-Adha holiday.
It is not clear what recourse, if any, Israel has to the planned violation of the agreement under which the terrorists were released. The government has not commented on the PA minister\’s announcement.
