Ma’ariv discusses what it calls post-post-Zionism and maintains that "Bringing the occupation to an end and freezing settlements are necessary principles for the future and strength of Zionism."

Yisrael Hayom notes that it chose not to publish pictures from a film released by Hamas yesterday, featuring a staged execution of kidnapped Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit.  "The film sharpens the contrast between the Gazan society, which chooses death as a preferred option and idolizes it in song and in performances for children, and Israeli society, which cannot remain insensitive to the fate of the individual."

The Jerusalem Post discusses the possibility of a woman being chosen as the new administrative head of the rabbinical court system, but notes that "due to Israel’s problematic mixture of religion and politics, which often leads to appointments guided more by political efficacy than the better good, there is little hope of this happening."  The editor feels that as Shas – the largest religious party in the government coalition – is expected to have crucial influence over the key appointment, the choice will undoubtedly be guided primarily by political considerations – and become yet another example of the destructive effects of mixing religion with politics.

Haaretz discusses the public row between former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Minister of Defense Ehud Barak. The editor notes that "It is difficult for the public to assess which of the two is right in the dispute, as the details are censored, and states: "It’s time to lift the censorship and let the public judge."
