The World Zionist Organisation (WZO) organised an event in support of the hostages held hostage by Palestinian terrorists in the Gaza Strip, those already released and their families, on Mount Herzl.

‘The World Zionist Organisation was called under the banner and tasked to assist in the operation of the Hostages Directorate, which performs a sacred work and cares for the captives and their families,’ a statement said.

In this context, ‘we received the director of Hostages and Returnees (NdR: released former captives) in an important and moving visit that included a tour of the State Memorial Hall and Herzl Museum on Mount Herzl, a wreath-laying ceremony and a visit to the National Institutions Building,’ said the organisation’s president, Yaakov Hagoel, in a post accompanied by an allusive video.

‘We will continue to act and be a magnet to promote national solutions to every challenge,’ he pledged.

‘We all pray for the safe and speedy return of the hostages to their homes,’ the Zionist leader concluded.

The video, set to music, includes footage of the event and excerpts from Hagoel’s remarks at the event and at a subsequent meeting.

‘In the last few months there was a process here that was not simple from every point of view, but a process of good people, who came and saw the good of doing good for the families of the hostages and the returnees; that is our goal,’ he stressed.

‘The families of the returnees, the families of the hostages, we must embrace them and we must help them. We must all help them, we must all support them, and of course, you and us, because this is one of the most important challenges of the Jewish people. Today we are here to carry out that sacred mission and we are happy that you are part of our family,’ the WSO head added.
