Erdan revokes resident status from man who aided terrorist in 2001 Dolphinarium attack

Itongadol.- Interior Minister Gilad Erdan revoked the permanent resident status on Sunday morning of Mahmoud Nadi, the man who drove the suicide bomber to the 2001 terror attack that targeted a night club at Tel Aviv\’s Dolphinarium in June, 2001.

Twenty one teenagers were killed and 132 were injured in what was one of there most gruesome terror attacks in the nation\’s history.

Suicide bomber Said Khutari wormed his way into the heart of the crowd of party-goers waiting in line outside the club, before blowing himself up. Both the Islamic Jihad and a group called Hezbollah-Palestine claimed responsibility for the attack, and it was also reported that the terrorist had links to Hamas.

Nadi was sentenced to a ten year prison sentence for his role in the attack. He is from Jaljulia, an Arab village near Kfar Saba.

"Under the circumstances and given the gravity of your acts and your breach of loyalty as a resident of the State of Israel. . . I have decided cancel your permanent resident status in Israel.

The decision takes away Nadi\’s right to Israeli social benefits, namely his right to healthcare and National Insurance benefits.

Over the weekend, Erdan said his ministry was examining the possibility of revoking permanent residency and the accompanying social benefits received by east Jerusalem Arabs from those who encourage terrorism and incite to violence.
