Itongadol.- Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum said Sunday that Egypt decided to postpone the upcoming cease-fire talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, according to a report by Ma\’an news agency.
Though a reason for the postponement was not given, the announcement came shortly after terror attacks in the Sinai Peninsula killed at least 33 Egyptian security personnel on Friday.
Barhoum said he was officially informed of the postponement from Egypt, though no similar notification was given to the Israeli delegation.
This latest round of negotiations, which were supposed to talk place on Monday in Cairo, were supposed to focus on the issue of a Gazan sea and airport, as well as talks of expanding Gaza\’s buffer zone and fishing zone.
"Egypt, since it is a sponsor to the talks, is determined to set a new date in a timely manner," Barhoum said.
The delegations last met on September 23, right before the Muslim holiday of Id al-Adha began.
