The AJC director, David Harris, outlined this during his visit to Argentina. Besides, he spoke about the good connection that the organization has with the country and expressed: “We have been friends for a long time, not only from Argentina and its relationship with the United States, but we are also permanent friends of the country and have tried to help to guarantee the best possible relations between both nations”.

In his visit to Argentina, the American Jewish Committee director, David Harris, defined, after his meeting with President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner and Chancellor Héctor Timerman, the relationship between the Argentinean government and the United States, as “very important”. “We care a lot about this administration and its connection with US, and also with Israel. At this moment we are fighting for the human rights defense, the democratic values, our common position against all kinds of discrimination and anti-Semitism, and our concern about the proliferation of nuclear weapons”.
He also outlined that the AJC has been a long friend of Argentina: “We are permanent friends and have tried to help guarantee the best possible relations between both nations”.
Besides, he highlighted the work with AMIA and his “deep and permanent love for the State of Israel, to live in absolute peace, security, as a full member of the community of nations”. He said that it is “an association that works in good moments, like today, as in hard times, like in July 8th, 1994, when the terror attack to AMIA took place”.
On the other hand, he stood out Timerman’s work with the ambassador Daniel Gazit and said that he wished “the time comes when Israel has peace and security so that he can finally said that life as a Jew is boring”.
Héctor Timerman will travel to Israel and will be received on April 4 and 5 by Avigdor Lieberman.
