Itongadol.- The Arab sector\’s call for a general strike on Sunday after a 22-year-old Kafr Kana man was shot and killed by police in the village Friday night.
Israel Police around Israel were ordered to go on its second- highest alert level, beginning on Sunday, according to orders from police Insp.-Gen. Yochanan Danino.
Danino raised the alert level in response to the Arab sector\’s call for a general strike on Sunday after a 22-year-old Kafr Kana man was shot and killed by police in the village Friday night.
Problems already began before dawn with many disturbances and rock throwing incidents.
Late Saturday night, rock throwers injured a three-year-old Israeli boy that was in a vehicle driving on Route 60 near Shilo Junction in the Binyamin region of Samaria, the IDF said.
Also Saturday night, rioters threw rocks at the light rail in Shuafat, Jerusalem.
At the Taibe bridge overnight, a driver blocked off the highway by setting tires on fire. Police arrested an 18-year-old man and began an investigation.
In another incident during the night, a 20-year-old in the predominantly Arab city of Shfar\’am was shot while sitting in his car, suffering moderate injuries.
In the A-tur neighborhood of Jerusalem, rioters threw rocks at security forces. There were no reports of damage or injuries, but one resident was arrested.
