Research subjects – Infectious Diseases , Interactions between Microbial Pathogens and Host cells in the Human Intestine , Mode of action of antibiotics ,mechanisms of resistance to antimicrobial agents and development of novel antimicrobial strategies and agents from natural sources. Identification of microbial virulence factors and elucidation of molecular mechanisms of microbial invasion of host tissues as well as mechanisms of microbial evasion of immune system and surveillance.
Recent interests include the mode of action of Allicin – the biologically active molecule from Garlic and biotechnological applications for its use for the benefit of Man.
