Itongadol.- Six young Iranians have been arrested for posting a video on YouTube of themselves dancing to American singer Pharrell Williams\’ hit song "Happy," Iran\’s ISNA news agency reported Wednesday.
The clip showed three men and three unveiled women imitating Williams\’ music video for the song by dancing on streets and rooftops in Tehran.
Authorities accused the six of committing an immoral act, ISNA reported.
Iran\’s Islamic law requires women to wear a veil while in public. In addition, Western pop music, men and women dancing together and YouTube access are all also forbidden.
"It is beyond sad that these kids were arrested for trying to spread happiness," Williams wrote on Facebook.
