Itongadol.- Palestinian sources reported that a Hamas operative was killed and another wounded by Israeli artillery shelling east of the Khan Yunis refugee camp in the Gaza Strip on Thursday night.
Palestinian news agency Ma\’an quoted Gaza medical sources as saying a 22-year-old man was killed.
The IDF did not immediately respond to the report.
A Hamas source said that clashes broke out in the area after a number of Israeli tanks crossed the border fence into the Gaza Strip in an area close to where the IDF earlier in October uncovered a tunnel that terrorists had dug under the border.
Hamas said the IDF tanks had entered the Gaza side of the border and had remained there for several hours and clashes erupted as militants fired mortar shells at the tanks. It added that an Israeli helicopter had also fired a rocket in the area.
