Itongadol.- Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu\’s emergency hernia surgery at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem Saturday overnight was successfully completed early Sunday morning.
The procedure took one hour, as the hospital predicted, and shortly after the surgery was completed, Netanyahu was transferred to a recovery area. A full recovery was expected to take no more than a few hours.
Director of Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital, Dr. Yuval Weiss, said the operation performed on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu early Sunday morning was successful.
"Netanyahu has been transferred to the recovery unit. He is feeling good, and we hope to release him by noon," said Dr. Weiss.
He added that the prime minister should be able to return to regular duties by the end of the week.
Netanyahu\’s personal physician, Dr. Tzvi Berkovich vouched for his good health saying that he is "in good general condition and will surely return to work quickly."
