Given the coming Day of universal commemoration in memory of the victims of the Holocaust designated by UN, which is marked every year on January 27, the Jewish News Agency and Itongadol launched a special report containing opinions of prominent personalities, both national and international, with the purpose of letting the world know important and relevant opinions regarding such day.
For this purpose, AJN has contacted prominent personalities, Jewish and non-Jewish, so they write an op-Ed with their thoughts regarding the Remembrance Day.
Under the name “Thoughts in the International Holocaust Remembrance Day”, the editorials will be published in a special section of the websites www.prensajudia.com and www.itongadol.com in English and Spanish, starting on January 23, after Shabbat.
We have the important contributions of the Israeli Ambassador to Argentina, Daniel Gazit; Israeli Ambassador to UN, Daniel Carmon; National Director of the Anti Defamation League, Abraham Foxman; president of the European Jewish Congress, Moshe Kantor; and prominent personalities from the Latin American Congress and the American Jewish Committee, among others.
Governmental Authorities from Argentina and representatives of Jewish communities in Latin America will also be participating.
This project will surely help readers to think of this important Day, given the important contribution of those who write the pieces.
From the Jewish News Agency and Itongadol, we consider that dates like this deserve all the attention of the media, because we all should learn from history to avoid and prevent past mistakes from happening.
