The Deputy Permanent Representative Ambassador of Israel to the United Nations, Daniel Carmon, said that the speech of the Argentinean President Cristina Kirchner was “highly important, strong and just”, in demanding Iran’s collaboration to clarify the terrorist attack against AMIA, which took place in 1994 and killed 85 persons.
“Both terrible terrorist attacks that Argentina, the Judaism, and Israel suffered cannot be forgotten and we need to remind those people that until justice is made, the request from the President to all world leaders will be repeated, so as to demand justice”, said Carmon in an exclusive dialogue with the Jewish News Agency, AJN.
Nevertheless, the Ambassador expressed that “the important, strong and just statement” from Argentina “has another important point of view, which is the biggest threat for the world, the Iranian terrorism.”
“A country that denies the Holocaust- Kirchner also talked about this- is a real danger and it constitutes a threat for Israel and the region. United Nations is the place to talk about this issue”, stressed Carmon.
In this way, the Ambassador commended the speech of Cristina Kirchner, who, once more, demanded the collaboration of the Islamic Republic for clarifying the case of the bombing against AMIA and also condemned Ahmadinejad’s appointment of Ahmad Vahidi as Defense Minister, a person accused of participating in the bombing.
Carmon also criticized Venezuela’s President, Hugo Chávez, for having a close relation with Ahmadinejad, saying that “I believe that we need to check the worries and intentions of each leader who meets Ahmadinejad”.
The Ambassador claimed for “an immediate world reaction towards Iranian danger”.
“Even Arab leaders will say what we are thinking: Iranian leaders are the biggest threat in the world”, he insisted.
Regarding Iran’s penetration in Latin America, Carmon said that “definitely, this represents a change in Israel’s agenda and in for the future, we need to create closer relations between Israel, the world, and Latin America, which was the region that supported the State of Israel.
