Over one hundred and fifty orthodox rabbis from 40 Jewish communities worldwide arrived at the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hevron on Monday to conclude their three-day annual World Rabbinical Conference, organized by the World Zionist Organization (WZO).
Rabbi Yechiel Wasserman, who heads the Center for Religious Affairs in the Diaspora of the WZO, said that this year\’s conference centered around the theme of "The Rabbi as an Advocate for Israel in his Community" due to the growing hostility against Israel in the world.
Rabbis and other Jewish leaders prayed together at the Jewish holy site and were then briefed by Noam Arnon, spokesman for Hevron\’s Jewish community.
The rabbis expressed their desire to strengthen relations with the Jewish community in Hevron and continue efforts to unite Jews around the world with their roots and the city of their forefathers.
